Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been heavily linked with a move to Roma this summer.

According to reports, the midfielder is now pushing for an exit. He wants Arsenal to accept a bid from the Italian club in the region of around €20 million, including add ons.

Apparently, the midfielder has already agreed on personal terms with the Italian club, and he is set to sign a four-year contract worth around €2.5 million per season.

The report further states that the 28-year-old midfielder wants to join Jose Mourinho at the capital club. He has already confirmed his desire to move to the Stadio Olimpico to the London club’s executives.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can secure an agreement regarding the fee in the coming days.

Apparently, Arsenal are holding out for a fee of around €20 million-plus add ons.

The difference in valuation between the Premier League and Serie A clubs is marginal, and therefore it would be fair to assume that an agreement will be reached soon.

Xhaka arrived at Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, and the midfielder has never quite managed to live up to the expectations.

It remains to be seen how he adapts to Italian football next year and whether Jose Mourinho can get the best out of him.

The Swiss international is at the peak of his powers right now, and the reported asking price could prove to be a bargain if he manages to recapture his Bundesliga form next season.

Xhaka was one of the most coveted midfielders around Europe during his time with Gladbach, and he could be a top-class player for the Italian club if he can recapture his confidence and sharpness.
