Donny van de Beek advised to leave Man United ahead of Euro 2020

Donny van de Beek-Manchester United

The Dutch man has struggled for game time since moving to Old Trafford in the summer.

Former Ajax star and the current youth team coach Ronald de Boer has advised Manchester United star Donny Van de Beek look for a new club, with Euro 2021 in the horizon.

Van de Beek has struggled for game time since the much-anticipated move from Ajax to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Netherlands midfielder has found himself down the pecking order of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and De Boer insists him to sort out his situation with the Norwegian manager sooner rather than later.

De Boer said

“The European Championship is coming, he will undoubtedly want to be there. Maybe it would be good for him to discuss with the club exactly what they want with him.”

“If the view on playing time does not improve, he may have to declare that he should be loaned or even sold.”

De Boer also added about Van de Beek’s playing style, which he finds ill-suited to the physically imposing Premier League.

“I think his playing style is better suited to the Spanish league than to the English. In the Premier League it is often hit and run, in Spain more combination football is played. Donny is physically fine. But he comes into his own better in the Ajax game.”

The 23-year-old also started on the bench against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final before coming as a substitute for the final quarter. The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat eventually.
