Inter Milan are set to announce the signing of Arturo Vidal, who will be moving to San Siro from FC Barcelona.
Antonio Conte has been persistent on signing the Chilean midfielder – tried to sign him last summer – and he is finally getting his midfield target.
Conte and Vidal had previously worked together at Juventus and won a handful of trophies.
The 33-year-old had a decent season in La Liga last term, chipping in with 8 goals and 2 assists despite Barcelona going trophyless in the end.
Vidal’s arrival could be curtains for Christian Eriksen, who has been reportedly deemed transferable by Inter after just eight months.
The Dane failed to hit the ground running in Nerazzurri colours and neither did he convince Conte to become a starter.
The 28-year-old moved to San Siro in January and has since made only 17 appearances, mainly as a substitute, with no major goal or assists contribution.
Inter are looking to offload Eriksen for a considerable fee but are devoid of enough suitors. Tottenham have also ruled out a possible reunion with the Danish international.
Furthermore, Conte is keen on adding Chelsea N’Golo Kante ahead of the next season as he wants to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto.
A stacked midfield of Nico Barella, Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini made life difficult for Eriksen in his first season in Italy.
Having already been down the pecking order of Conte, it remains to be seen whether Inter could find a suitor for Eriksen.
