AS Roma

AS Roma will look to make it two wins in two league games when they welcome newly promoted Cremonese to Rome this Monday.

The hosts continued a recent tradition in the opening round, with their first goal of the league season scored by a midfielder for the fourth consecutive year, as Bryan Cristante’s strike gave José Mourinho’s side all three points in their 1-0 win at Salernitana last weekend.

Despite expressing concerns over his side’s profligacy, Mourinho was content with the positive start to the campaign. With the first three points and clean sheet in the bag, the Portuguese boss will now be hoping his side can transfer their solidity into goals and another three points against the Serie A newbies.

The task of getting a win in this game should not be too much for the Giallorossi, who have won 17 of their last 18 home league matches against newly promoted sides (D1).

Possible AS Roma starting line-up

Rui Patricio; Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez; Rick Karsdorp, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Nemanja Matic, Nicola Zalewski, Paulo Dybala, Nicolo Zaniolo; Tammy Abraham.

Injured: Ebrima Darboe, Ruben Providence

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Cremonese

Cremonese will travel to Rome looking to atone for their unfortunate capitulation at the tail end of their opening game last weekend.

Despite being reduced to ten men late in the first half, the visitors fought well in their first match of the season against Fiorentina, holding their hosts to a 2-2 draw till the dying stages of the game.

But a 95th-minute howler from loanee goalkeeper Ionuț Radu saw Fiorentina gifted the three points. The goalkeeper, who is on loan from Inter Milan, also ended his previous stint at the San Siro side with a huge mistake that cost his former team vital points in their run for the title.

Although it was far from an ideal start for the goalkeeper, coach Massimiliano Alvini came out in strong defence of the Romanian keeper, who also made several important saves, stating that ‘’you can’t destroy a boy’’.

But Alvini will now hope his continued support helps Radu deliver only a second clean sheet in nine away matches for his team, who will be desperate to get their first point of the season as they look to survive their first season in the top flight.

Possible Cremonese starting line-up

Ionut Radu; Leonardo Sernicola, Matteo Bianchetti, Johan Vasquez; Paolo Ghiglione, Mongida Pickel, Luca Zanimacchia, Santiago Ascacibar, Emanuele Valeri; Cyriel Dessers, David Okereke.

Injured: Michele Castagnetti, Emanuel Valeri

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Gonzalo Escalante
