Juventus confirm termination of Aaron Ramsey contract

Manchester United could be destination for Juve's Aaron Ramsey

Juventus have confirmed that they have terminated the contract of Aaron Ramsey.

The former Arsenal man had one year left on his contract at the Turin club, but he has now officially left Juventus after the Serie A giants ripped up the final year of his contract.

Ramsey joined Juventus three years ago after running down his contract at Arsenal. But despite winning the league during his time at the club, he never fully settled, playing fewer than 50 games in Italy during his three years in Turin.

The 31-year-old was loaned out to Rangers during the January transfer window, but the Scottish side opted against making his move to Ibrox permanent.

Ramsey have been plagued by injuries and inconsistent form since moving from Arsenal. However, despite his fall from the top in club football, he remains an integral part of Wales’ plans for the World Cup alongside Gareth Bale, who recently headed over to MLS to sign with LAFC.

Ramsey could well join his Welsh teammate stateside or could return to the Premier League, where he made his name with Arsenal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton have been linked with the player in the past, but there have also been rumours of a switch to high-spending Nottingham Forest. The Premier League newbies have undertaken a hefty recruitment drive after returning to the Premier League following a 23-year absence.

They recently signed Jesse Lingard on a free transfer from Manchester United and could also add Ramsey who will join for free. But the midfielder’s wages might pose a threat to the deal as he earned almost 400 pounds a week at the Allianz Stadium.

Ramsey is fondly remembered for his lengthy spell with Arsenal, where he won three FA Cups under the guidance of legendary manager Arsene Wenger.
