Juventus want to sign PSG’s Leandro Paredes

Juventus have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes as the player to complete their midfield ahead of the new season.

The Serie A giants are looking to rebuild their midfield ahead of next season and see Paredes as the man to complete the puzzle that already has the duo of Paul Pogba and Manuel Locatelli.

According to reports in Tuttosport via Sportsmail, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is likely to loan out 20-year-old Nicolo Rovella following an offer from Salernitana, and will probably sell one of Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey or Arthur Melo.

However, if none of these players leaves, it will be difficult for the Old Lady to sign high-earner Leandro Paredes from PSG, as they are unlikely to be able to afford his wages.

However, according to another report by SportMediaset, the move for the Argentina international will not be straightforward, because PSG are asking for double Juventus’s initial £13million offer for the midfielder.

The report also claims that Paredes is willing to leave the Ligue 1 side after missing two of the club’s recent pre-season games in Japan.

With Jorginho increasingly looking likely to stay at Chelsea this summer, Paredes has become the best option for Juventus to bring into their midfield.

The 28-year-old has never really been a starter at Parc des Princes. And given where he presently is in his footballing career, he is hoping to carve out a key role for himself at a big club. With the World Cup approaching and with a place in the national team not guaranteed, Paredes will be desperate for regular playtime to boost his chances of making the final squad for the winter World cup in Qatar.

He appeared just 15 times in the league for PSG last season in a squad packed with midfielders.
