FC Copenhagen

Despite the best effort of Kamil Grabara and the FC Copenhagen backline at the Etihad last week, Copenhagen still fell to a 5-0 loss to Manchester City.

The hosts entered the game as clear underdogs but gave a good account of themselves with some key resolute defending. The star of the show was goalkeeper Grabara who was in a form of a personal battle with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.

But in the end, the City striker had the last laugh as he scored two first-half goals to help City on their way to a 5-0 win.

However, Copenhagen followed that loss with a disappointing 1-1 draw with Nordsjaelland last time out. The result kept them in seventh place in the Danish Super Liga, eight points behind Nordsjaelland who currently sit at the top of the league table.

In the Champions League, the hosts currently occupy the bottom of the table, with the one point gained in a goalless draw with Sevilla the only thing to show for their run in the UCL this season.

They are yet to score in the UCL this season and will probably fail to do so again in this game against a very attacking and defensively solid Man City side. However, given that they have not lost any of their last five games at home (W3, D1), they could be entertaining the thoughts of a positive result against City.

Possible FC Copenhagen starting line-up

Kamil Grabara; Kevin Diks, Denis Vavro, Davit Khocholava, Victor Kristiansen; Lukas Lerager, Marko Stamenic, Viktor Claesson; Mohammed Daramy; Mamoudou Karamoko, I. B. Johannesson.

Injured: Nicolai Boilesen, Akinkunmi Amoo, Rasmus Falk Jensen, Zeca

Doubtful: Steinn Oskarsson

Suspended: None

Manchester City

Manchester City will look to continue their remarkable run of form when they travel to Denmark on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been in imperious form this season, taking Deon anything that has stood in their way so far. At the heart of their success has been the towering image of Erling Haaland who currently leads the top-scoring charts in the Champions League and Premier League.

The visitors come into this tie on the back of yet another big win in the Premier League–this time, a 4-0 win over Southampton. The win took their goal tally in all competitions to 44 goals in just 12 games.

With such impeccable form, City enter this tie as favourites and so are expected to easily win this game. A win in this game will seal their place in the next round. They will be chasing other records too, including winning all their UCL group games for the first time ever.

Possible Manchester City starting line-up

Ederson Moraes, Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, Sergio Gomez; Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva; Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland.

Injured: Kyle Walker, John Stones, Kalvin Phillips

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
