Scotland

Scotland and England are the world’s two oldest national football teams, having met in the world’s first international football match in 1872. From 1872 to 1989, Scotland had a long-standing rivalry with England, with whom they played annually. Since then, the teams have only met seven times, the most recent in June 2017, with a group encounter scheduled for Euro 2020.

Manager

In 1998, former Chelsea player Steve Clarke began his coaching career as Ruud Gullit’s assistant at Newcastle United. After a successful time at Kilmarnock, he was named Scotland manager in May 2019.
