Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly interested in signing the Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.

The young full-back was on loan at AC Milan last season, and the 22-year-old has returned to Old Trafford now.

The Portuguese defender is highly rated across Europe, and it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid come forward with a concrete offer for the right back.

Los Blancos could definitely use more depth in the full-back positions, and Dalot could be the long term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

The 22-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Old Trafford, and he was sent out on loan in order to get more first-team action.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to give him the necessary game time to continue his development.

The Spanish outfit have Alvaro Odriozola as an option for the right-back slot as well. Alvaro Odriozola who is a promising product of Real Madrid youth academy, and was not tested at highest level.

Dalot, on the other hand, was out on loan to AC Milan and was there in Milan starting eleven. He will want to play regularly next year, but it is highly unlikely that he will get that opportunity at Manchester United.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to start for the Red Devils week in week out, and the Premier League side have been linked with a move for Kieran Trippier as well.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Red Devils decided to cash in on the Portuguese international this summer.

Dalot must choose his next destination carefully. He cannot afford to join a club where he will sit on the bench every week. It could affect his development negatively.
