Second meets third this Saturday in the A-League as Brisbane Roar hosts Sydney FC in their last game of the regular season.

Stadium: Dolphin Stadium (Brisbane)

Key Statistics

Brisbane Roar have won two of their last two home league games. They are unbeaten at home in eight games. The hosts have three wins from their last five games.

Sydney FC are the most in-form team in the league at the moment. They are on a four-game-winning run. They’re unbeaten in five games (W4, D1)

Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar became just the third team to qualify for the final series when they won Perth Glory 2-1 in their last outing.

A second-half strike from Riku Danzaki after a Jonathan Aspropotamitis own goal for Perth Glory ensured that the Roars will play their 10th final series in eleven seasons.

With the place in the final series in the bag, Warren Moon’s men are now hoping for a third-place finish. They will look to seal their place behind Melbourne City and their visitors, who are sitting in second place in the league standings.

They head into this tie on a decent run of form having taken three wins from their last five games.

Having gone eight games without tasting defeat at home, they will also be looking to stretch their unbeaten run at home to nine games and ensure that the regular season ends on a high note.

Tom Aldred, Gol Gol Mebrahtu and Jack Hingert are the players unavailable through injury for this tie.

Possible line-ups

Jamie Young; Scott Neville, Courtney-Perkins, Corey Brown, Kai Trewin; Jay O’Shea, Rahmat Akbari; Jesse Delay, Joseph Champness, Alex Parsons; Dylan Wenzell-Halls.

Sydney FC

Second-placed Sydney FC travel to Brisbane as the most in-form side in the league having taken maximum points from their last four games to seal their final series berth.

They are now looking to end the season with a win and will travel to Dolphin Stadium full of confidence.

Steve Corica’s boys have won three of their last six away games and have failed to score only once in the last ten games on the road.

Despite scoring 37 goals—18 fewer than leaders Melbourne City—the visitors are set to end the season with the fewest goals conceded after shipping just 23 goals this season.

They will hope to keep their record intact and extend their unbeaten run against Brisbane Roar to six games.

Possible line-ups

Tom Heward-Belle; Joel King, Ben Warland, Alex Wilkinson, Rhyan Grant; Luke Brattan, Alexander Baumjohann, Milos Ninkovic, Anthony Caceres; Luke Ivanovic, Bobo.
