Manchester United came back behind to hold Tottenham Hotspur for a 1-1 draw in the return-leg match at Tottenham Stadium today.

Moments before kick-off, all the players, coaches and staffs from both the teams along with the match officials took few moments to show support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Players shirts show “Black Lives Matter” at the back of their shirts; It also featured an NHS logo on the front as a gesture of appreciation to work during the pandemic.

The match saw United started with both Pogba and Ighalo on the bench. They started with Rashford, Martial and James at the front. 

Tottenham, on the other hand, had to get a replacement of Dele Alli who was not able to play for one-match suspension. Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Ndombele and Lo Celso started on the bench. Jose Mourinho rejigged his team defence with Dier and Davis started at left side.

Tottenham took the lead after 27th minutes, as Steven Bergwijn collected a loose ball just inside the Manchester United half and drove into the box before unleashing a powerful shot which went at the back of the net after deflected from David De Gea’s hand. 

In the 81st minute, Manchester United equalised, when second-half substitute Paul Pogba used some brilliant display of skills to dupe Eric Dier into tripping him for a penalty, and Bruno Fernandes scored with steely confidence.

Lloris produced a superb fingertip save to deny Anthony Martial with the visitors boosted by the introduction of Paul Pogba, who was making his first Premier League appearance since December. 

With the draw, the positions of both the teams remain unchanged on Premier League table. Manchester United and Spurs remain at fifth and eighth place respectively; both have eight games to play this season.
