Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move away from the French club but his mother has now revealed that the forward could end up staying add the capital club despite the transfer links.
The player was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid during the summer transfer window but PSG decided to turn down multiple offers from the Spanish giants and Mbappe has the option of leaving the French outfit on a free transfer now.
The 22-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and the Ligue 1 outfit will be powerless to stop him from leaving at the end of this season.
The attacker’s mother has now revealed via GFFN that the player’s camp is in talks with Paris Saint Germain right now and it will be interesting to see if the two parties can come to an agreement regarding a contract extension in the coming months.
She said: “We are in talks with PSG right now and it’s going well. I even spoke to Leonardo last night [Monday]. But will we reach an outcome? One thing is sure: he will give his all right up until the end to win the Champions League. Kylian needs to feel satisfied. If he’s unhappy, he is capable of telling you: “I’m stopping my career”. And he says that to us often, actually [smiles]. With Kylian, it can all change from one day to the next.”
Apparently, Mbappe wants to find an agreement with PSG on the sporting side of things and he believes that the financial aspect of the agreement can be sorted quickly.
She added: “We turned down PSG’s first offer and then a second one at the end of the window, around mid-August. When we negotiate, first we find an agreement on the sporting side of things, because after that the financial aspect is sorted in an hour.”
It remains to be seen whether the French outfit can convince mbappe of their ambitions and persuade him to commit his long term future to the club.
The player’s mother also reflected on his experience of playing alongside Lionel Messi.
She claimed: “Kylian will be able to tell his kids later on that he played against Cristiano Ronaldo and alongside Neymar and Messi, his childhood idols. He had posters of these players in his room. After PSG decided to keep him, he said to me, “Have you seen who I’m gonna play with, mum?”. In order to win, it’s best to be in this team this year.”
