Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has declared that he is ‘positive’ that N’Golo Kante will be fit for the last game of the Premier League season and Champions League final despite coming off in the first half in Chelsea’s win against Leicester City.

The Blues solidified their chances of a top-four finish with the win, thanks to goals from Rudiger and Jorginho. But they were given a scare in the first half when Kante was substituted and replaced by the returning Mateo Kovačić.

But the manager has admitted that substitution was just a precautionary measure and that Kante should be fit to play against Aston Villa in Chelsea’s last league game of the season and the Champions League final against Manchester City.

“I don’t know yet (their conditions). Tuchel said while speaking post-match to Sky Sports about the injuries to Kante and Harvetz.

“We will check them tomorrow. I have a good feeling with N’Golo. He said he felt something. He didn’t want to risk a muscle injury. I hope he will be fit for Sunday, Kai the same.”

N’Golo is not injured. He told me – and I understood him in French – he went out before an injury. He felt his hamstrings and was worried that he would get injured if he continued to play.”

Chelsea were beaten by The Foxes on Sunday in the FA Cup final but have now overtaken Brendan Rodgers’ side in the Premier League standings. They can seal a top-four finish if they win their next league game against Aston Villa on Sunday.
