Chelsea 1-1 Krasnodar: Jorginho levelled from spot

Jorginho-Chelsea

Chelsea win their group despite a draw against Krasnodar

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw against FC Krasnodar in the Champions League earlier tonight.

The away side took the lead 24 minutes into the game when Remi Cabella scored a well-taken goal.

Jorginho brought the Blues back into the game on the 28th minute from the penalty spot.

Both teams played out a cagey and dull game with very few chances. Neither side were particularly impressive going forward and a draw is probably the fair result in the end.

Krasnodar will have a lot of positives to take out of the game after holding the Blues to a draw at Stamford Bridge tonight and they will be hoping to build on this performance and do well in the Europa League this season.

The draw tonight leaves Chelsea on top of Group E with 14 points from six matches. The Blues have managed to secure their place in the next round of the competition as group winners and they have done so without losing a single game.

Meanwhile, Sevilla finished as the group runners up with 13 points from six matches.

Chelsea have been difficult to beat in the recent months and Frank Lampard will be reasonably pleased with his team’s performance despite failing to win here.

The Blues have managed to get the job done and they will be preparing for the knockout rounds now.
