Marcelino contacted
Tottenham have been linked with a host of new managers since the departure of Jose Mourinho, and it appears that Marcelino is on their shortlist.
According to reports, the Premier League side have contacted the representatives of the Athletic Bilbao manager.
Marcelino has a contract with the Spanish side until the summer of 2022, and he could prove to be a relatively inexpensive appointment for the London club.
Spurs have been linked with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig and Jurgen Klinsmann as well.
Tottenham need to bring in someone who can freshen up the squad get the club challenging for the top honours next season.
The Londoners have quite a few talented players at their disposal, and Daniel Levy must look to bring in someone who can add a distinct style of play.
Apparently, the Premier League side is looking to appoint a sporting director as well who will oversee the day to day running of the club and sort out the transfer business as well.
Klinsmann reacts to Spurs links
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klinsmann has now responded to rumours of him taking over at Tottenham next season.
The 56-year-old is currently out of work, and he could be a decent appointment for the Londoners.
The former German striker has played for Tottenham, and he knows the club well. He might be able to form a meaningful bond with the fans as well, given his history with the club.
It will be interesting to see who the Londoners end up appointing.
Klinsmann said: “I tell you anything is possible in life. I never thought in the first place I would coach Germany [at] a World Cup. I never thought I’d coach the US for six months or Bayern Munich. We will see in a couple of months who’s going to be the Spurs manager.”
