Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new long term deal at the club.
Recently, Bukayo Saka also committed his long term future to Arsenal and Arteta will be delighted to see that Martinelli has followed suit.
The young forward is exceptionally talented and he has been a revelation for the Gunners so far. He has all the tools to develop into a star for them.
It is important for Arsenal to hold on to their young talents and build around them.
Martinelli has impressed during his first team appearances this season and he will be hoping for a bigger role in the first team now that he has signed a long term deal.
It will be interesting to see Arteta’s plans for the Arsenal youth next season. The likes of Saka and Martinelli seem ready for starting roles and it is up to the manager now whether he wants to throw them in at the deep end.
After the player’s extension, Mikel Arteta said: “I am very happy that Gabi has signed a new contract with us. He is a very talented young player and he has impressed us with his performances, attitude and work-rate. We are looking forward to getting him back to full fitness and to watching his development at our club.”
Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants big money to stay at the club.
As per ESPN, the forward wants a three-year contract worth up to £250,000-a-week.
Aubameyang is in the final year of his contract and the Gunners seem desperate to keep him at the club.
The 31-year-old has been their best player since joining the club and losing him on a free transfer would be a devastating blow for them.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal agree to his demands and sort out the extension this summer.
