Arsenal Transfer: Zaha interest, Odegaard replacement and Arteta’s message to Torreira

Zaha-Holding-Arsenal-Crystal Palace

Zaha pursuit

Arsenal are interested in signing the Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha at the end of the season.

The Gunners have been after the Palace star since 2019 and they offered £40 million for him a couple of seasons ago as well.

Back then, Palace refused to sell the winger and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners can prise him away from Selhurst Park this summer.

The 28-year-old has been in impressive form this season and it is no surprise that his performances have caught Arsenal’s attention once again.

Odegaard replacement

Meanwhile, the Gunners are already lining up a replacement for Martin Odegaard, if they fail to sign the Real Madrid midfielder this summer.

The Norwegian signed for Arsenal on loan and he is managed to impress at the London club so far.

If Real Madrid refuse to sell the player in the summer the Gunners will look to move for Norwich midfielder Emiliano Buendia.

The Argentine has been exceptional for the Canaries in the championship this season and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Arsenal midfield.

Arteta’s message to Torreira

Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira is keen on signing for Boca juniors this summer but Mikel Arteta has urged the midfielder to remain calm for now despite the emotional difficulties he is going through right now.

Recently the midfielder’s mother passed away after contracting the Coronavirus and the player has been struggling emotionally ever since.

It is evident that he wants to end his time at the English club and it will be interesting to see if he’s allowed to return to South America in the summer.

Arteta said: “We have contacted him, we have spoken to him. We know how much of a difficult time this is for him. He was really attached to his Mum and with his family and it’s a hard time for him emotionally.

“There is a lot of thoughts and things that goes through his mind but… ‘Tranquilo’ when things are like that it is not the moment to make decisions. I understand how he’s feeling emotionally his need and responsibility to be closer to his family but this is not the moment to make any decision.”
