The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Hein Rummenigge has admitted that Thiago Alcantara is seeking a transfer this summer. The Spaniard has drawn huge interest from the Premier League Champions, with Jurgen Klopp turning out to be his biggest admirer.

Thiago has still a year left in his contract but is against the idea of continuing with the Bavarians.

Rummenigge said, “The talks Hasan (Salihamidzic) had with him have always been very productive. And at some point, it actually seemed that [a new contract] was done.”

“But then Thiago told Hasan some time ago that he would like to try something new at the end of his career. We have to accept that.”

Bayern Cheif also said that Thiago could stay beyond this season if none of the clubs came calling with concrete offers. He also added that there hadn’t been any strong interest from the top clubs thus far.

However, recent reports stated that the Bundesliga champions had lowered the asking price of Thiago, willing to sell him around 30 million euros.

The former Barcelona star would be a valuable addition to the Merseyside club. Despite his age, Thiago is one of the best central midfielders in Europe at the moment, and Klopp can reap the rewards if he can prise away the 29-year-old from the Allianz Arena.

The Reds have won the Premier League Champions despite missing out on the Champions League or other domestic trophies this season. They can continue their dominance if they are to add high-profile players like Thiago.
