West Ham 1-3 Liverpool: Salah double takes the Reds back into top three

Mohamed Salah-Liverpool

Liverpool picked up a scintillating 3-1 win over West Ham United in the Premier League earlier tonight.

The Reds came into this game on the back of a morale boosting win over Tottenham and they managed to put on another splendid display away from home.

Jurgen Klopp  will be delighted with the quality his players showed tonight and Mohamed Salah in particular was unplayable.

The Egyptian international scored twice to secure the three points for his side and Craig Dawson scored a consolation goal for the Hammers late on in the game.

Salah opened the scoring in the second half around the hour mark with a fantastic solo effort. The Egyptian cut in from the right hand side and nestled the ball into the far right corner of the net.

He doubled Liverpool’s advantage after a breath-taking counterattack by Trent Alexander Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Second half substitute Roberto Firmino was instrumental in Liverpool’s third goal and he helped set up Gini Wijnaldum, who  rolled the ball into the West ham net from close range.

West Ham have been lethal from corners this season and Craig Dawson made the most of an excellent delivery to get his side on the score sheet two minutes from time.

The win takes Liverpool up to third in the Premier League table with 40 points and they’re just four points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

West Ham dropped down to 5th with 35 points.
