Bayern preparing for life after Lewandowski, search for replacement underway

Bayern Munich preparing for life after Robert Lewandowski, search for his replacement is underway at Allianz arena.

Robert Lewandowski-Bayern Munich

German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly looking for a long term replacement for star striker Robert Lewandowski.

The 32-year-old will have just one year left on his contract with the German outfit at the end of the next season, and he could look to join Real Madrid.

Lewandowski is one of the best players on the planet, and replacing him will be challenging for any club. The German outfit was linked with Romelu Lukaku earlier this summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Germans can find a quality alternative for the Polish international over the coming months.

Lewandowski scored 55 goals across all competitions last season, and he has helped Bayern Munich win every trophy at club level.

The Bundesliga outfit will have to find one of the best young attacking players in the world if they are to replace a striker of Lewandowski’s calibre.

Hypothetically, a player like Erling Haaland should be on top of their wish list. The Borussia Dortmund star has established himself as a world-class striker, and he is already competing with Lewandowski for the Bundesliga Golden boot.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months now.

There hasn’t been any reported interest from Real Madrid for the Polish striker now, but things could change next summer because of Lewandowski’s contract situation.

The 32-year-old could be available for a reasonable price next summer, and any club in world football would like to have a player of his quality and experience for the short term.

Lewandowski has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past as well, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the top English clubs decided to move for him as well.
