Bavarians picked up an emphatic win against Hoffenheim to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Bayern Munich continued their dominance in Bundesliga after thrashing Hoffenheim 4-1 at home.
The Bavarians have exacted revenge for their defeat to Hoffenheim in the reverse fixture earlier this season and the irony is the scoreline was 4-1 at the end of that game.
Jerome Boateng gave Bayern the lead after scoring a header from Joshua Kimmch’s cross and Thomas Muller doubled the scoreline before the end of the first half. Soon, Hoffenheim responded with a goal from Andre Kramaric, who starred in the reverse fixture.
Robert Lewandoski thwarted Hoffenheim’s chances of coming back when he found the nets from the assist of Kingsley Coman as Bayern went 3-1 up. The goal also marked 24th of the season for the Polish striker, who has set his sights on becoming the top scorer of Bundesliga once again and to an extent, European Golden Shoe is also a possible one.
Serge Gnabry ended his drought by scoring the fourth goal for Bavarians, which also meant to be the winning strike.
The win has allowed Bayern to go ten points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table and they are on course to become the league winners for the ninth consecutive season. Besides, Hansi Flick’s men also created an impressive record of scoring 57 goals in 19 league games.
