Dortmund 3-1 Augsburg: Dortmund come from behind to win, Sancho back on scoresheet

Barcelona and Real Madrid could enter the race for Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund picked up their first win in four games after subduing Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund came from behind to secure an impressive 3-1 comeback win against Augsburg, thus ending their three-match winless streak.

Augsburg took a shock lead in the 10th minute of the game after Andre Hahn found the nets, assisted by Marco Ritcher.

The hosts had a great chance to equalise but Erling Haaland slipped it away as his penalty hit the outside of the post. However, Augsburg’s early lead didn’t last long as Thomas Delaney scored the equaliser, benefiting from the free-kick of Marco Reus.

Die Borussen dominated the proceedings in the second half as Jadon Sancho established the lead in the 63rd minute by scoring a goal from the counter-attack.

Dortmund tripled the lead with the help of Felix Uduhokai’s own goal, which resulted from Haaland’s initial header. The goal proved to be the winning as the home side grabbed three points to end their brief drought.

The Black and Yellow’s win against Leipzig weeks ago was only flattering to deceive as they went to suffer losses against Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund. Todays’ win could ease the pressure on Edin Terzic, who has been off to a worrying start to his managerial stint at Signal Iduna Park.

However, it remains to be seen whether they can be consistent in the coming weeks as they are currently fifth in the Bundesliga table. Dortmund are well aware of this season’s tough competition for the top-four race and all they need to do is not to slip up their winning momentum.
