Leverkusen extend winless run with 1-1 draw at Stuttgart

Arsenal to fight Dortmund for Bayer's Moussa Diaby

Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga earlier today at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Patrik Schick scored 7 minutes into the game for the away side and Leverkusen looked very impressive throughout the first half.

It seemed like the visitors were on course to pick up their first win of the season.

Leverkusen went into this game on the back of two consecutive draws and they were expected to pick up all three points here. they will be disappointed to have dropped two points despite leading for most of the game.

Stuttgart got back into the game on the 76th minute when Kalajdzic scored.

The visitors have now drawn three games in a row and their 14th in the table.

It will be interesting to see if they can improve their form in the coming weeks and get back to winning ways.

Leverkusen are certainly better than this and they should be challenging for European qualification every season.

Judging by their start to the League season so far, it would be fair to assume that the German outfit need to improve a lot. Losing a key player in Kai Havertz seems to have weakened the side significantly in the attack.

As for Stuttgart, they will be quite pleased with their comeback. At one point it seemed like they were destined to lose the game but they have done well to grind out a result eventually.
