RB Leipzig 0-1 Bayern: Goretzka scores the winner to send the Champions seven points clear

Hans-Dieter Flick - Bayern's development has been crazy

Bayern Munich picked up a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga earlier tonight.

The win tonight takes the German champions seven points clear of RB Leipzig in the title race.

This was a glorious opportunity for Leipzig to close in on Bayern especially with Robert Lewandowski out injured and Julian Nagelsmann will be disappointed with his team’s performance here.

Midfielder Leon Goretzka scored the only goal of the game on the 38th minute for Bayern Munich.

Hansi Flick decided to start with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in place of Robert Lewandowski and the former PSG forward did a decent job to lead the line for the German champions.

RB Leipzig started the game with a positive mindset and they came up with some intense pressing in the first half. However, Bayern managed to play through their press comfortably and they took the lead towards the end of the first half.

Leipzig improved in the second half after the introduction of Justin Kluivert but the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Marcel Sabitzer failed to hit the target with their efforts.

Bayern could have easily doubled their advantage with the likes of Jamaal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller forcing impressive saves from Peter Gulacsi in the second half.

Leipzig had five attacking players on the pitch at one point in the game but they struggled to get through the Bayern Munich resistance and the German champions did well to hold on to their advantage to secure all three points.
