Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Kabak following the injury to Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool have received a massive boost in the pursuit of Schalke defender Ozan Kabak, who has been cited as a replacement for injured Virgil van Dijk.
According to reports, Schalke are ready to sell Kabak for a cut-price value of £18m in January considering the aftereffects of Coronavirus.
Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp turns out to be a huge admirer of the Turk centre-back and believes he could gel into the side.
The injuries have stacked up in the Reds’ defence, which includes Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Fabinho.
As a result, Klopp has been forced to rely on youngsters Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams alongside Joe Gomez in the defence, and it has panned out well.
The Reds have managed to win all of their games since the Merseyside Derby, where Van Dijk sustained an ACL after a wild tackle from Jordan Pickford. Liverpool have also kept three clean sheets in three of their Champions League games so far, with their recent win coming against Atalanta.
Kabak,20, has impressed in his debut season although Schalke were calamitous throughout the course. It also led to his debut with Turkey national team in November last year.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in Kabak’s Schlake teammate Malick Thiaw, who has excelled in the former’s absence.
The Reds will face Manchester City on Sunday, and it will be the biggest test yet for Klopp’s defence.
