Chelsea

Chelsea will be eying a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome English League One side Plymouth Argyle to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues qualified for this stage of the cup by beating Chesterfield 5-1 in the previous round. Goals from Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, Andre Christensen and Hakim Ziyech before the hour mark gave the Blues a big win, with a goal by Chesterfield’s Akwasi Asante in the 89th minute only serving as a consolation.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s side come into this tie on the back of a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur just before the winter break and international break.

The win secured courtesy of a wonder strike by Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech and a header by Thiago Silva kept Chelsea’s quest for a league title alive.

Having already booked a place in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, Chelsea are aiming to make a clean sweep of every title they are participating in this season. And so, they will look to easily win this and book their place in the next round.

Possible Chelsea starting line-up

Marcus Bettinelli; Lewis Hall, Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr; Ceaser Azpilicueta, Saul, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi; Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Werner.

Injured: Ben Chilwell

Doubtful: Reece James

Suspended: None

Unavailable: Édouard Mendy

Plymouth

Plymouth will try to do the impossible when they travel to London to face Chelsea.

The visitors who are playing in English football’s third tier qualified for this round by defeating Birmingham in the last round.

They come into this tie on the back of a 3-1 win over Doncaster and will fancy their chances of causing a huge upset by beating Chelsea in this game.

Schumacher’s men are no strangers to seeing defeating sides in higher divisions in the FA Cup. However, not since the 2006-07 campaign have Argyle managed to progress past the fourth round of the FA Cup.

They have conceded 10 goals in their last four games and should be wary of Chelsea’s potent attackers enjoying a field day here.

Possible Plymouth starting line-ups

Micheal Cooper; Joe Edwards, Macaulay Gillesphey, Don Scarr, James Wilson, Conor Grant; Panutche Camara, Jordan Houghton, Ryan Broom; Jordan Garrick, Luke Jephcott.

Injured: Brendan Galloway and George Cooper

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Chelsea 3-1 Plymouth
