The English midfielder has extended his stay with Foxes for another four years.

James Maddison has officially signed a new deal with Leicester City, which will extend his stay until 2024.

The English midfielder has been speculated to sign a new deal for a while amidst the interest from Manchester United.

The Red Devils were highly interested in signing Maddison before they halted their pursuit owing to his expensive valuation.

With the new contract, Maddison is expected to earn double the salary he did with his previous deal.

The English youngster expressed his gratitude after signing the new contract.

“I’m so happy to sign a new contract for this football club, said Maddison after the contract renewal.”

‘It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a Leicester City player with so many positive things happening on and off the pitch and I’m delighted to be part of that. ‘

‘The supporters have been incredible to me and we’ve a fantastic set of players in that dressing room who are determined to show what we’re capable of doing together in both Europe and the Premier League next season.’

The 23-year-old had racked up a tally of 9 goals and 3 assists last season before he underwent hip surgery.

His absence perhaps affected the Champions League hopes of Leicester, who ultimately lost to Man Utd on the final day of the Premier League when the top-four race was on the line.

The former Norwich City star is expected to be in perfect shape before the start of the next season.
