Arsenal hoping to terminate Mesut Ozil’s contract

Arsenal looking to part away with Mesut Ozil

Arsenal are looking to get rid of the German midfielder Mesut Ozil in the next few months.

According to reports, they are set to open talks with the player over ending his contract early.

The Premier League club have approached Ozil regarding a settlement for the final nine months of his contract.

The 31-year-old midfielder has fallen out of favour at Arsenal and he is no longer a key player for them. The German was left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad earlier this week.

Apparently, Arsenal are looking to get his massive wages off their books and then willing to pay him a settlement amount so that the player can leave on a free transfer.

However their attempts have been unsuccessful so far and the player is demanding 13 million pounds to leave.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can agree on a deal with the World Cup winner before the January transfer window.

Ozil was a world-class player when Arsenal signed him but he has regressed rapidly and he is no longer the player he used to be. Moving on would be the best for all parties involved but Ozil will have to lower his financial demands in order for the contract to be terminated.

He’s unlikely to play for Arsenal this year and it would be better for him if he joined the club where he can play regular first in football once again.
