PSG have joined the transfer race with Manchester City for wantaway Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
According to reports, Les Parisiens forward and former Barca star Neymar is eyeing a reunion with Messi, whom he has recently contacted over a phone call. Furthermore, PSG sporting director Leanardo has also made contact with the Argentine’s representatives.
Messi recently took the footballing world by surprise after the reports emerged that he wants to leave the Nou Camp this season.
In light of the decision, several top-tier clubs are said to be in the trail of the Blaugrana legend.
With Bayern Munich confirming that they will not sign Messi this summer, Manchester City and PSG remain as the possible destinations.
City are said to have been in contact with Messi’s entourage while the Argentine himself had rung Pep Guardiola up last week.
PSG are now monitoring the situation of Messi, who has a contractual dilemma with the Blaugrana.
The role of Neymar will be crucial if PSG are to recruit the Argentine skipper as both share a cordial relationship.
Messi also appeared keen on bringing Neymar back to the Nou Camp on multiple occasions, most recently in the last summer window, but was to no avail in the end.
Les Parisiens are confident that Neymar has finally bedded in at Parc des Princes and will not force a move this summer.
