Barca director Amor optimistic about Messi’s future.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi remains coy over his future, with his contract expiring this summer.

Many believe that the Argentine had played his last El Clasico against Real Madrid, which happened on the weekend, with Barca stumbling to a 2-1 defeat.

However, the Catalans director Guillermo Amor feels that Messi would stay beyond this summer and play more Clasicos.

Amor said: “We hope not. We hope he decides to stay at Barcelona and plays many more Clasicos with Barcelona.”

The 33-year-old had a rather disappointing night at Alfred Di Stefano stadium as he failed to score or assist, thus extending his goal drought to seven Clasicos in a row.

PSG and Manchester City are said to be waiting on the wings to take the Argentine on a free transfer this summer.

Dembele relishing his current form amid contract talks.

Ousmane Dembele has been one of the surprise packages for Barca this season, not only did the French man manage to stay fit but also attained a starter berth in Ronald Koeman’s starting eleven.

Dembele’s recent upturn of form has earned him interest from top clubs like Manchester United and Juventus although Barca are keen on his contract extension.

With his current deal expiring next year, Dembele says he is not worried much about the future and insisted that he is relishing his current form.

“My future? I still have a year of contract left. There hasn’t been a discussion with the club yet, I’m happy, and I feel good.

“Then there is the new president who has arrived and whom I do not know too well, but he is very close to the players. We’ll see how it goes.”
