Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad have begun the season well, and are topping the league after 13 games.

They have taken an impressive 28 points from their opening 13 matches (W8, D4, L1) and are on one of their best start to the season ever. The hosts have collected more points at this stage of a top-flight season in only two seasons in the past, collecting 29 points in the 1979/80, and 2002/03 seasons.

They remain outsiders in the title run but will be desperate to keep their run alive as they look to claim their first title since 1981/82.

Their 16-game-unbeaten run will give them confidence heading into this game against Valencia.

Real Sociedad will be without the services of Igor Zubeldia due to a muscular problem, while Jon Guridi, Nacho Monreal and Asier Illarramendi remain doubts.

Possible Real Sociedad starting line-ups

Remiro; Zaldua, Elustondo, Le Normand, Diego Rico; David Silva, Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi; Adnan Januzaj, Alexander Isak, Mikel Oyarzabal.

Injured: Igor Zubeldia

Doubts: Jon Guridi, Nacho Monreal and Asier Illarramendi

Suspended: None

Valencia

Valencia’s start to the season has been far from perfect as they enter game-week 14 with just four wins so far in the La Liga.

The visitors are sitting in 10th place, but are just three points behind the European places. A win here will take them closer to their goals, which is a top-six finish.

Despite their seemingly poor placing in the league, José Bordalás side have been good in attack. They have scored in all but one of their league matches so far.

However, they have been poor in defence, shipping in the second-most goals in the division (20).

Meanwhile, Gabriel Paulista is unavailable due to a hamstring problem.

Possible Valencia starting line-ups

Cillessen; Foulquier, Diakhaby, Alderete, Gaya; Soler, Wass, Racic, Duro; Guedes, Gomez.

Injured: Gabriel Paulista

Doubt: None

Suspended: Hugo Guillamon

Prediction

Real Sociedad 3-1 Valencia
