Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has been linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

According to reports, the 33-year-old defender is not in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans next season, and the Spanish outfit are looking to cash in on him.

Marcelo has a contract with the Spanish club until the summer of 2022, and he could be available for a reasonable price in the coming weeks.

Apparently, the likes of Everton and Leeds United are keen on signing Brazilian legend.

Marcelo has been at Real Madrid since 2007, and he’s helped them win five La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.

He could prove to be an incredible addition to the Everton or Leeds defence next season.

Although he’s no longer the player he used to be, his experience and leadership could prove to be invaluable for his suitors.

Apparently, the defender could be available for a fee of around £5 million, and Everton are currently in a pole position to secure his services.

Both Everton and Leeds could use some depth in their full-back areas, and Marcelo could prove to be a quality short term addition.

Leeds, in particular, are set to lose Ezgjan Alioski on a free transfer, and they will need to bring in a quality left-back. Marcelo could be his replacement next season.

It will be interesting to see if the 33-year-old can adapt to Premier League football and make his mark in England next season.

He has proven his quality in Spain and with his national team, and there is no reason why he cannot succeed in the Premier League.
