La Liga Transfers: Barcelona keen on Kylian Mbappe, Chelsea ready to pay €50m for Eden Hazard

Barcelona join Mbappe race

Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months but it seems that archrivals Barcelona have joined the transfer race as well.

Real Madrid submitted a massive offer of around £171.7 million to sign the French World Cup winner back in August but PSG refused to sell the 22-year-old.

Mbappe is set to be a free agent next summer and Real Madrid will hope to sign him on a free transfer.

The player will be free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs when the January transfer window opens and Barcelona are now looking to hijack his move to Santiago Bernabeu as per AS.

Apparently, the World Cup winner is at the top of their transfer wish list because of his current contract situation and Barcelona want to make the most of the opportunity and snap him up on a free transfer.

Hazard linked with Chelsea return

Meanwhile, Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has been linked with a return to Chelsea.

The Belgian international has struggled to replicate his peak form since his move to Santiago Bernabeu because of injury problems and he could be on his way back to the London club soon.

Real Madrid paid around €160 million for Hazard and it wouldn’t be surprising if they decided to cash in on him in the coming months.

According to El Nacional, Chelsea are prepared to pay around €50 million for the Belgian international but Real Madrid are holding out for a higher fee.

Hazard is unlikely to leave Real Madrid during the winter transfer window and any potential move will have to wait until the end of the season.
