Zinedine Zidane looks to clear out as many as eight players this summer.

Real Madrid reportedly want to overhaul the squad ahead of next season as Zinedine Zidane looks to clear out as many as eight players this summer.

Los Blancos won the La Liga title last season but were knocked out of the Champions in the round of 16 for the second consecutive season.

As expected, the Spanish capital wouldn’t be active in the transfer market like most of the club but are looking to lose some squad weight ahead of next season.

Luka Jovic, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez are amongst the players Madrid want to get rid of going forward.

Jovic was acquired by the Galacticos last summer but his first season in La Liga had been tumultuous. The Serbian striker, who was labelled as the successor to Karim Benzema, couldn’t replicate the form he had at Eintracht Frankfurt. Ligue 1 outfit Monaco are interested in recruiting him.

Bale is said to be interested in playing out his contract until 2022, which has been cited as a rebellious act for Los Blancos preventing his move to Chinese Super League last year.

James Rodriguez recently revealed that Madrid didn’t allow him to leave last summer although the chance was there. The Colombian midfielder is looking for regular playtime, which he cites it can’t be achieved with the Galacticos. Atletico Madrid and Lazio are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.

Los Blancos have also sorted out Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez, Nacho Fernandez, Oscar Rodriguez in the long list of transferable players.
