Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad’s chances of playing European football next season took another big hit last time out as they were beaten 2-1 by struggling Levante.

In a frustrating game at the Estadi Ciutat de València, a late Gonzalo Melero goal sealed the win for Levante, condemning Real Sociedad to their ninth loss of the season.

The result extended their winless run in the league to four games, ruling them out of the race for the top four as they are now eight points behind Atletico Madrid with three games to play.

They come into this game sitting in sixth place, three points ahead of seventh-placed Villarreal. For a team that was at one point in the season, competing for the title, they are now in real danger of missing out on a spot in Europe next season.

But given that they have never lost at home to Cádiz (W13, D3), who themselves began Monday a whole ten places below their opponents, they will be confident of winning this game to keep the three points lead over Villarreal.

Possible Real Sociedad starting line-up

Alex Remiro; Andoni Gorosabel, Igor Zubeldia, Aritz Elustondo, Diego Rico; Mikel Merino, Martín Zubimendi, David Silva; Adnan Januzaj, Alexander Sorloth, Rafinha.

Injured: Mikel Oyarzabal, Carlos Fernandez, Ander Barrenetxea

Doubtful: Nacho Monreal,

Suspended: Robin Le Normand, Alexander Isak

Cadiz CF

While Sociedad are playing for European qualification, their visitors Cádiz are still playing to secure their place in La Liga next season.

The visitors come into this tie sitting one place above the drop zone after a huge 3-0 win over Elche last time.

They are three points ahead of Real Mallorca in 18th position and can take a giant step towards another season in the top flight if they secure a win here.

While the odds are stacked against them, they started the new week with the potential to go within a point of confirmed safety and will battle for at least a point in this game.

Possible Cadiz CF starting line-up

Jeremias Ledesma; Carlos Akapo, Luis Hernandez, Victor Chust, Alphonso Espino; Alex Fernandez, Jose Mari, Ivan Peralta, Oussama Idrissi; Alvaro Negredo, Lucas Perez.

Injured: Fali, Varazdat Haroyan

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
