Bayern Munich agree on a deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax

Bayern Munich and Bundesliga clubs resume training

Bayern Munich are set to complete a deal to sign the Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui this summer.

The German club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the player has decided to join the Bavarian giants and the transfer is in its final stages.

The defender is highly rated in European football and he was wanted by top European clubs this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the highly talented right-back has already signed his contract with Bayern Munich and he has completed his medical with them.

The move is expected to be made official soon.

Salihamidzic said: “Mazraoui has decided to join us. We’re in the final stages, it’s looking good – he was wanted by top European clubs”

The 24-year-old will add depth and quality at the back for the German giants and his arrival will also allow the likes of Joshua Kimmich to operate in the midfield position regularly.

The defender has picked up five goals and four assists across all competitions this season and he will contribute to the offensive phase of play as well.

The German outfit have been quite vulnerable defensively this season and they will need to strengthen at the back during the summer transfer window if they want to challenge for the Champions League trophy next season.

Meanwhile, the Ajax defender has proven himself in the Dutch league this season and he will be delighted to have made the step up to the Bundesliga now.

It will be interesting to see if he can adapt quickly and make an immediate impact for the German side next season.
