Lyon

Lyon will look to make it two wins in two games this Friday when they welcome Troyes to Groupama Stadium for their second league game of the season.

The hosts could not play their game last weekend as their game with Lorient was postponed because of unsuitable ground. And, so they have the opportunity of beginning their season with two consecutive home games.

Having already won their first home game of the season–a 2-1 win over AC Ajaccio at the opening weekend–they will look to win their opening two home games of a top-flight campaign for the first time since 2018/19 by taking maximum points from this game with Troyes.

Given that they have won their last five games on this ground, they will come into this tie as the favourites to win. Their impressive 12-game unbeaten record against Troyes will also boost their confidence (W11, D1).

Possible Lyon starting line-up

Julian Pollersbeck; Malo Gusto, Thago Mendes, Castello Lukeba, Nicolas Tagliafico; Houssem Aouar, Johann Lepenant; Tete, Lucas Paqueta, Karl Toko Ekambi; Alexandre Lacazette.

Injured: Moussa Dembele, Romain Favre, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Maxence Caqueret

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Anthony Lopes

Troyes

Troyes will look to end a run of five league games without a win when they travel to Lyon this Friday.

The visitors have lost their two opening league games, conceding six goals in the process. Their opening game was a 3-2 loss to Montpellier, followed by a disappointing 3-0 loss to Toulouse last weekend.

With zero points and a goal difference of minus four, Troyes come into this fixture sitting in 19th place. To avoid being part of the four sides who will be relegated from the top-flight at the end of the season, the visitors need a strong reaction in this game.

Head coach Bruno Irles who said after their 3-0 home loss against Toulouse last weekend that he’s still working on bringing in new faces over the final two weeks of the transfer window, will at least hope that his side can put up a better fight this time as they look to improve on their 2022 away league record which has seen them win just two away games in eleven games.

Possible Troyes starting line-up

Gauthier Gallon; Erik Palmer-Brown, Yoann Salmier, Jackson Porozo; Andreas Bruus, Florian Tardieu, Rominique Kouame, Xavier Chavalerin, Yasser Larouci; Renaud Ripart, Mama Balde.

Injured: Abdu Conte, Karim Azamoum

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
