Gambia

After a hard-fought victory over Guinea, Gambia will look to progress to the next round of the 2022 AFCON when they take on Guinea in Douala on Saturday.

The West African side have enjoyed a sensational debut at the tournament, claiming three wins and keeping three clean sheets from their four games. It will look to cause another major upset against one of the tournament’s strongest sides.

The Scorpions come into this tie on the back of a 1-0 win over Guinea that was secured courtesy of a 71st-minute goal from Bologna forward Musa Barrow.

The visitors, who are making their first appearance at the tournament, kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Mauritania on January 12, before holding out for an impressive 1-1 draw with Mali four days later.

The win was Tom Saintfiet’s men’s third ‘1-0’ victory in the competition, and they looked defensively very solid. A slice of history awaits them if they can beat Cameroon, and they will be desperate to win this game.
