Nantes

Nantes will look to get their second win of the season when they welcome French Ligue 1 champions PSG to Stade de la Beaujoire.

The hosts have endured an uninspiring start to their league campaign so far having avoided defeats in four of their opening five league games. However, three of those games have ended in draws, with just a solitary win to show in these games.

That win came in a 3-1 win in Round four before they won a valuable point in a 1-1 draw with Strasbourg last time out.

Despite having a rather uninspiring transfer window, the current Coupe de France holders will feel that they can do more this season and so will be desperate to get a win against a PSG side that they beat in this fixture last season.

Although the eight-time French champions have done well to avoid defeat after conceding first in the last two rounds (W1, D1) they cannot afford a repeat of that record against the ten-time champions who trashed them 4-0 in the curtain-raising French Super Cup.

Possible Nantes starting line-up

Alban Lafont; Jean-Charles Castelletto, Nicolas Pallois, Andrei Girotto; Denis Appiah, Sebastien Corchia, Kedar Bamba, Ludovic Blas, Samuel Moutoussamy; Evann Guessand, Mostafa Mohamed.

Injured: Moses Simon, Moussa Sissoko, Quentin Merlin

PSG

Paris-Saint Germain bounced back from their 1-1 draw with Monaco in Round Four with a 3-0 win over Toulouse last time out.

The win which saw Lionel Messi record two assists took PSG’s goal tally to 21 goals after five games. The goal tally is the record for the most goals scored after five rounds in Ligue 1 and has ensured that the visitors remain top of the league table on goal difference.

With Monaco and Marseille right at their tails with 13 points apiece, Christophe Galtier’s side will travel to Nantes desperate to maintain their brilliant form and keep themselves top of the pile.

Given that they have won 12 of the last 15 meetings between both sides 9L3), they are heavy favourites for the win in this game. Also, a record of 3+ goals scored in five of the six competitive games they have played this season under Galtier suggests that they will not have a problem getting a goal in this game.

Possible PSG starting line-up

Gianluigi Donnarumma; Danilo Pereira, Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos; Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Marco Verratti, Nuno Mendes; Lionel Messi; Kylian Mbappe, Neymar.

Injured: Pablo Sarabia, Julian Draxler, Presnl Kimpembe

Doubtful: None
