Brentford

Brentford have been inconsistent of late, failing to build on their impressive start to this season. They have managed only two wins in their last nine games in the Premier League.

However, the Bees have restored enough confidence ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Manchester United after defeating Watford at the weekend.

Brentford pulled off a 2-1 comeback win against the Hornets, with Pontus Jannson and Bryan Mbuemo scoring late goals.

The hosts are currently 10th in the league rankings and only seven points separate them from the fifth-placed Man Utd.

Ivan Toney would be unavailable for selection once again due to COVID-19 but Sergi Canos, who was on target against Leeds, will return from suspension.

Possible Brentford line-up

Alvaro Fernandez; Charlie Goode, Pontus Jansson, Janelt; Rasmussen, Mathias Jensen, Christian Norgaard, Shandon Baptiste, Henry; Bryan Mbuemo, Sergi Canos

Injured: Mathias Jorgensen, Kristoffer Ajer, David Raya, Tariqe Fosu-Henry, Josh Dasilva, Julian Jeanvier, Ethan Pinnock, Ivan Toney

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Manchester United

Manchester United will look to continue their progress under Ralf Rangnick, who is off to a great start to his managerial career at Old Trafford.

The German boss recently oversaw United edge out Norwich City, which extended their winning streak to three games in the Premier League.

Despite the victory over the Canaries, Rangnick wasn’t happy with the United’s performance and insisted that the club should put more effort.

Fred completely looks a different player under Rangnick after putting back to back impressive performances against Crystal Palace and Norwich.

His compatriot Alex Telles has also proved his worth at the left-back position in the absence of Luke Shaw.

Victor Lindelof was pulled out during the Norwich game due to breathing problems and although he has been cleared fit, it remains to be seen whether Rangnick would field him as a starter.

Possible Manchester United line-up

David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Fred, Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho; Cristiano Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood

Injured: Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial

Doubtful: Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Suspended: None
