The Brazilain was heavily linked with a return to Barcelona.

It may look surprising for everyone that a player like Neymar, who looked as if were dejected wearing a PSG in the past, is now literally thumping Les Parisiens’ crest with pride.

The Brazilian was a polarizing figure among the PSG ultras due to his flirting with his former club Barcelona – a mini transfer saga – right before the summer of 2019.

Barca perhaps was ready to welcome their prodigal son with open arms – and also at the behest of his close friend Lionel Messi – but due to financial reasons, a move didn’t materialise.

Here it is what made the 28-year-old to reverse his decision as he is on the verge of signing a new contract with the French Champions.

One of the key reasons revealed to be him feeling at the centre of PSG’s new project.

Things weren’t the same following the transfer saga as he carried Les Parisiens single-handedly to a domestic treble last term while also helping them reach the finals of Champions League.

Another reason for Neymar’s willingness to continue turns out to be the improved relationship with the club’s sporting director Leanardo.

Neymar, who is currently out injured, was earlier deemed to recover in time for the Champions League clash against his former club Barca. Now, he looks available following his inclusion in PSG’s squad for Trophees Des Champions final.

In terms of form, the Brazilian looked in the best shape of his career yet – due to some sumptuous displays against Manchester United, Istanbul Basaksehir in the UCL group stage – before he picked up the injury.
