Ousmane Dembele, the 22-year-old French striker, seems to have found backing of Lionel Messi as third striker of Barcelona after Messi and Suarez. Dembele started against Sevilla with Messi and Suarez, ahead of compatriot Griezmann. Earlier it is reported that everything may not be well between Barcelona legend and club’s new recruit Antonio Griezmann. Though Messi denied the rumour in a recent interview. Griezmann, the former Atletico Madrid player, is tipped to be the successor of the Argentine in Camp Nou.
Red Card against Sevilla
Though Barcelona won comfortably with a 4-0 margin, the win was marred by two marching orders at the closing moments of the match. Ronald was booked, and it is reported that Dembele protested with referee and terms his verdict as “very bad’. This prompted the referee to book Dembele and Barcelona reduced to nine.
Both Ousmane Dembele and Ronald are most likely to miss the match against Real Madrid. If the precedence holds, for an appeal to be successful, Barcelona have to work hard to turn it around. The reported offense may not that caustic, but a verbal attack on the referee, can call for warning or punishment.
The incident has made Barcelona so frustrated that had they sought after the service of Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, who is said to move to Catalan capital in the coming weeks to help 22-year-old to put his life in order. Earlier it was reported that the former Borussia Dortmund forward is staying late at night, as he is huge fan of video games and TV series and this has resulted in him of being late in his practice seasons in the next morning, Barcelona is also bothered by his eating habits and have they have tried everything in their disposal including employing a private chef for the French player. Earlier, Josep Maria Bartomeu met with Sissoko and warned him about his client’s habits. The report of Sissoko traveling to Barcelona shows he has taken President’s comments very seriously.
Two Match Suspension
Barcelona decided to appeal against the suspensions. However, if the appeal goes unsuccessful, then Dembele would not be able to play Madrid-derby the world on 26th October. Barcelona presented the case for Dembele as well as Ronald Araujo, who was sent off in the match against Sevilla. The chances of the appeal being successful were very slim, and Barcelona fails to prevail assuaging the ban. This means Dembele is to sit out for the next two La Liga outings.
The club considered the agent’s decision to move the city form as they move forward in the right direction. They still think that Ousmane Dembele can have an impact on the Catalan capital. The coaching staff seems to be satisfied with Dembele’s current attitude, training, and his improvement since the beginning of this session. But what frustrates them are his inconsistencies in form and temperament and his injuries.
