Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are apparently considering a swap deal involving the Argentine forwards Mauro Icardi and Sergio Aguero as per El Nacional.

Aguero joined Barcelona earlier on in the summer in order to play alongside his close friend and compatriot Lionel Messi.

However, Messi ended up leaving the Spanish La Liga club due to an unexpected turn of events and the 33-year-old striker is rumoured to be unhappy with the situation.

Aguero wanted to play alongside his close friend at Barcelona and it seems that he could get another chance to reunite with Messi at Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Mauro Icardi has struggled to hold down a starting berth at PSG and the player has not got along with Messi so far.

Apparently, the French outfit are looking to offload him and Barcelona could use a quality centre forward like him.

The 28-year-old was one of the best goal scorers across Europe during his time at Inter Milan and he could prove to be a quality addition for Barcelona if he manages to recapture his confidence and sharpness.

Meanwhile, Aguero is in the twilight years of his career and moving him on could be a wise decision for the Spanish outfit.

Swap deals are often difficult to execute and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can pull off the transfer when the transfer window reopens in January.

Furthermore, Sergio Aguero will have to recover from his injury in order for the transfer to go through.

The former Manchester City player has not been able to demonstrate his qualities at his new club so far due to an injury layoff.

Both players are likely to welcome the chance of leaving their respective clubs in the near future and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the next few months.
