5-players Arsenal could target in the January transfer window

Arsenal Players to accept conditional Pay-cut

Arsenal have been quite fluctuating in the Premier League this season with four wins and four defeats in eight games thus far. Although the performances against Manchester United and Fulham were up to the mark, the defeats against Liverpool, Leicester City and Aston Villa leave a lot to be desired for Mikel Arteta’s men. The Spaniard has insisted that the Gunners are far off from being consistent in the Premier League. The summer window was quite a success for Arteta as he was able to sign Gabriel Magalhaes, Ceballos ( once again on loan) and in addition players like Mohamed Elneny, Rob Holding have rejuvenated themselves. However, further reinforcements are needed to challenge for the Premier League title and here are the players whom the Gunners could target in the January transfer window.

Houssem Aouar

Houssem Aouar was one of the top targets for Arsenal in the summer transfer window and while everyone thought the Lyon midfielder would be the Gunners’ priority signing, they instead went with Thomas Partey. Profile wise, Aouar is different from Partey as the Frenchman could provide the creative spark besides chipping in with goals and assists. While Arteta appears to be a fan of the French midfielder, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can sign him in the winter transfer window.

Jack Grealish

We are talking about one of the hottest stars in the Premier League at the moment and one who is gradually gaining the attention which he completely deserves. The Aston Villa playmaker could be game-changer for Arsenal or say any other clubs, but the interest from Manchester United and his price tag will make the transfer difficult to happen for the North Londoners.

Jerome Boateng

Boateng is said to have been considered by Bayern Munich as expendable as his contract expires next summer. Top clubs around the world would battle for the German central defender should Bayern opts against extending his contract. Arsenal can also benefit from the veteran centre-back and his experience would help grow centre-back Gabriel.

Dominic Szoboszlai

As for now, Szoboszlai is the name often whispered among the Gunners after being deemed as the top target. The Hungarian youngster has been touted as the heir to Mesut Ozil’s throne at the Emirates stadium while the Gunners face competition from Real Madrid and AC Milan for the rising star.

Brenner

The Brazilian wonderkid, who currently plays for Sao Paulo, is also said to be on the transfer wishlist of the Gunners and also could be available for cheap. Brenner could be next in the line after Gabriel Martinelli to join the Emirates stadium.
