Arsenal 0-3 Villa: Watkins double in 3-minutes shutters Gunners chances

Dean Smith-Aston Villa

Aston Villa picked up another stunning 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League earlier tonight at Emirates Stadium.

Villa have been outstanding in the Premier League this season and they scored seven goals against Liverpool earlier this year.

Bukayo Saka’s own goal gave Aston Villa the lead on the 25th minute and then Ollie Watkins scored a brace within three minutes in the second half to seal all three points for Aston Villa.

Mikel Arteta will be thoroughly disappointed with his team’s performance and it will be interesting to see how Arsenal bounce back from this game.

Arsenal will have been expected to win the game especially at home and tonight’s defeat will come as a major blow to their confidence.

The Gunners have been well organised at the back since Arteta took over as their manager and tonight’s performance is simply unacceptable.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa maintained they are 100% away record this season with the win.

They are now up to 6th in the standings with 15 points and Arsenal remain 11th in the table.

The Gunners will be up against Leeds United in their next game and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back strongly.

After their recent dip in form, Aston Villa were in need of a confidence boost and tonight’s win will have given them immense belief.
