Arsenal secure Odegaard signing

Arsenal have agreed on a deal with Real Madrid to sign the Norwegian attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard.

According to the latest reports, the Gunners will pay a fee of around £30 million-plus bonuses for the 22-year-old who was on loan at the London club during the second half of last season.

The report further states that the Norwegian international was in London on Wednesday to complete his Arsenal medical.

If Arsenal manage to register him by midday on Friday the midfielder will be available to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

The player is fully vaccinated and therefore he will not have to quarantine.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid will have the right of first refusal for Odegaard.

That means they will have the option to match any future offers for the midfielder and the selling club will have to prioritise their offer over others.

Ramsdale deal agreed

Meanwhile, Arsenal have agreed on a deal with Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as well.

The 23-year-old will join the London club in a deal worth around £24 million and the fee could rise by another £6 million with bonuses.

Ramsdale has been linked with a move to Arsenal for weeks now but the deal was held up because of Sheffield United’s excessive valuation of the player.

The Championship club have now returned to the negotiating table with a revised valuation and Arsenal have reached an agreement with them.

The Gunners have offered the player a four-year contract with the option of a fifth year and the player is now set to agree on personal terms and undergo his medical before the transfer can be completed.
