The French forward, who has reached 100 appearances with Barcelona, is happy to continue at the Nou Camp.

Antoine Griezmann made his 100th appearance for Barcelona in the weekend La Liga clash against Real Sociedad.

The French World Cup expressed his joy about the achievement and stated that he wants to play another century of games with the Blaugrana shirt, thus ruling out a possible exit.

Griezmann said: “I am proud and happy to have reached this figure.

“I hope I get to play another 100 games and carry on giving everything to make history with this club.

“I want to keep helping the team both on and off the pitch, in attack and defence, and enjoying being at Barca.”

Griezmann’s future was hanging in the balance when the reports suggested that the Frenchman could be sold to help Barca ease their financial crisis. Even president Joan Laporta confessed that the club were open to selling the 30-year-old.

Atletico Madrid and Manchester clubs had been showing interest, with the former one proposing a straight swap deal that would see Saul Niguez move to the Nou Camp.

But as things turned out, Barca unexpectedly parted ways with Messi due to La Liga’s salary cap concerns and the Argentine would move to PSG.

Griezmann is the one with more experience in Barcelona’s attack and should step up in the absence of Messi.

The former Atletico Madrid star’s all-around abilities have always been evident with Barca, but it is high time for him to find the nets consistently.
