Barca on the verge of sealing the deal for Wijnaldum

Barcelona are said to be in advanced talks for the signing of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to reports.

The Dutch midfielder, who is set to become a free agent this summer, has been long linked with a move to the Nou Camp since Ronald Koeman took charge.

Wijnaldum had earlier talked about the difficulties in agreeing to a new deal with the Reds amid interest from clubs like PSG and Inter Milan.

Koeman would be delighted to reunite with the 29-year-old like they did at the Netherlands national team and it remains to be seen what role Wijnaldum would be presented if he gets signed for the Catalans.

Ibrahima Konate on the radar, amid Real Madrid interest

Barcelona are set for a transfer battle with the arch-rivals Real Madrid for RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate.

The highly-rated centre-back has a release clause worth €45m but couldn’t be signed for a fee between €25m and €30m.

While Dayot Upamecano has stolen the limelight at Leipzig, Konate is nevertheless a talented defender like his French compatriot.

The Catalan club are also said to be leading the race ahead of Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich and they believe they can snap up the 17-year-old.
