Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is a target for Aston Villa this summer and the West Midlands club are looking to return with an improved offer for him.

Villa had a £25 million bid turned down for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder and they are looking to test Arsenal’s resolve once again.

The Gunners do not want to sell the highly talented midfielder anytime soon and they are looking to tie him down to a new long term contract.

Emile Smith Rowe produced seven goals and seven assists since breaking into the Arsenal first-team last season and he could be a key player for the Gunners next year.

Mikel Arteta needs a quality creative midfielder like him in his starting lineup next year and Smith Rowe is unlikely to push for a move to Villa this summer. He knows that he can get regular game time at Arsenal and a move to Villa would be a step down for him.

Apparently, the West Midlands club are plotting a £30 million bid for the 20-year-old and it will be interesting to see how the Gunners react to it.

Aston Villa have been very ambitious in the transfer market so far and they have already sealed the signings of Emiliano Buendia and Ashley Young.

Villa will have Buendia and Grealish operating in the attacking midfield role for them next year and it will be difficult for them to accommodate Smith Rowe in their starting lineup.

The youngster is better off staying at Arsenal for now and continuing his development with regular football at the London club.
