The Juventus ace is looking in great form in the European Championships.

Portugal ace Cristiano Ronaldo is off to a flyer in Euro 2020, scoring three goals in two matches and also breaking quite a few records in the process.

The Juventus star became Euro’s all-time top scorer (11goals ) during the 3-0 win against Hungary as he surpassed Michel Platini, who had racked up 9 goals. He also became the first player to score in the five consecutive Euros and the oldest ever player for Portugal to score in a major tournament.

In addition, Ronaldo also equalled German legend Miroslav Klose’s record of most goals combined for Euros and World Cup (19 goals).

Despite the 36-year-old finding the scoresheet, Portugal were beaten by Germany in their second group stage game and are now awaiting World Cup winners France in the next game.

Should Fernando Santos’ side go deeper in the tournament, Ronaldo can break a few more records.

The all-time leading scorer in international

Ronaldo has been long chasing Iranian legend Ali Daei’s record of the highest number of international goals. The former Real Madrid man, who has 107 goals under his belt, is only two shy of reaching a huge milestone.

Most assists at Euros

Ronaldo showed everyone his creative side during the defeat to the Germans as he set up Diogo Jota’s goal. The Portuguese star already has seven assists to his names in Euros. So, he is one away from equalling Karael Poborski’s record for most assists in the tournament.

Most caps by a European international

Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, who is absent for this year’s Euros, holds the record for most caps by a European player (180). Currently, with 177 caps, Ronaldo can break his former Real Madrid team-mate’s record if Portugal advance to the semi-finals.

Three back-to-back European Tournaments

Before Portugal, Spain had won Euro 2008 and Euro 2012, two back-to-back European Tournaments. Cristiano Ronaldo has won Euro 2016 and UEFA Nations League in 2019. If Portugal can win the current European Championship, this would be the third in a row. CR7 would share this record with teammates Rui Patricio, Pepe and manager Fernando Santos.
